What it is like here
The island’s steep relief makes it a good place to fly, for paragliders and hang-glider pilots alike, over the central mountains or along the coastal cliffs. The take-off sites used most are Pico da Cruz, the Madalena do Mar viewpoint, Porto da Cruz and Prazeres. Beginners fly in tandem with a professional pilot.
