The place
This is the easy half of the Rabaçal pair: a flat 1.5km levada walk through laurel forest to a viewpoint facing the Risco waterfall, which drops over 100m down a bare rock face. It's gentle enough for families and makes a good warm-up or cooldown alongside the longer 25 Fontes walk.
When to come
Do it first thing, before the fork with 25 Fontes gets congested; wetter months give the fall more volume.
