The place
Boca dos Namorados is a lookout at about 1,000 metres in Corrida, in the parish of Jardim da Serra, above the Curral das Freiras valley. From the lookout you look down over the valley and across to Eira do Serrado and the central massif of the island, with an unobstructed view. The valley below is sheltered by high mountain peaks.
The footpath towards Corticeiras starts at the lookout itself, so the viewpoint doubles as the trailhead. The view is the main reason to come, and a clear day makes the most of it.
