The place
José Silvestre de Jesus opened this as a simple tavern for petiscos and drinks in 1966; his sons Manuel and Isidro now run it, and the menu still revolves around one dish, regional espetada on laurel-wood skewers. It sits a short drive from rival institution Viola on the same road, and locals will happily argue about which is better.
