The place
Funchal-born Cristiano Ronaldo's namesake museum lines up his boots, Ballon d'Or trophies and shirts from Sporting to Real Madrid to Manchester United on the marina promenade a short walk from the cathedral. It's unapologetically a fan pilgrimage rather than a broad sports museum, but the scale of what a kid from a working-class Madeira family went on to win lands even on visitors who don't follow football.
